I'm Hao Wu, a Product Manager specializing in emerging technology, AI, and data. I build 0→1 products at the intersection of research, data, and experience-design.

For more than 10 years I’ve embedded data-driven product processes in industries like EVs, healthcare and luxury retail; and through that experience gotten a front-row view of how its disrupted those industries.

What I’ve been doing professionally:

Milestone Systems

2025 – Current

Cameras have become ubiquitous in modern society from phones, CCTV, IOT devices, drones, etc.

I’m currently building new products and business models under the assumption that there is enormous untapped value in the exponentially increasing video data in the world.

Novo Nordisk

2020-2025

Before the world went crazy for Ozempic and weight loss drugs, I founded the Novo Nordisk Moonshot Factory where we built and envisioned what the future of diabetes and obesity care might look like.
We created prototypes, infrastructure and business models for what would eventually become the largest and most consumer-driven pharmaceutical market in history.

Cobiro

2019-2020

I led an AI & Data team consisting mostly of AI researchers. We built and deployed models that could automatically generate high quality web content. We worked with a number of research labs, including OpenAI before they built ChatGPT. But while we thought their technology was interesting (GPT 1-1.5), we bet on bi-directional models like BERT (Google) and ERNIE (Baidu).
Hindsight can be funny that way.

CLEVER

2018

Pre-2020, many wanted EVs to become the future, but few actually wanted to do the hard work to make it a reality. I joined a small team that believed charging infrastructure and services had to precede mass adoption. Back then EVs were less than 1% of cars on Danish roads, and I’d like to believe the work had some impact on the exponential growth since.

Bang & Olufsen

2016-2018

I was responsible for GDPR for a 90-year old company and got my hands dirty in all the manners data is stored, used and hidden for such an old and distributed company. During the journey I also got to work on luxury products and how to integrate data and digital services on hardware that cost more than my annual salary.

import.io

2015-2016

Back when a 400 million USD acquisiton was the biggest the AI world had ever seen (barely buys you a single AI researcher today), I worked with AI and big data for a startup that knew data was the new oil. Problem being - very few people used this new oil. I researched data users across industries and evaluated their understanding of data, AI and algorithms for use in our data products.
And now I get to tell people I worked with AI before it was cool.

Sticks’n’Sushi

2012-2014

I was responsible for all IT and data for a growing restaurant empire that was expanding across Europe. The rapid expansion was fueled by a private equity investment, and I had to ensure all IT needs and financial data scaled from a family-owned operation to something investable. It was surprisingly hard to tell a group of people that want to give you money that 9 pregnant women can’t deliver a baby in 1 month.

As a mentor and advisor I’m also involved in:

CyanoCapture

2025-Present

An Oxford University research-lab has done work on cyanobacteria, a kind of algae, for years. Their technology has now matured to the point that they can get it to produce anything from palm oil to pharmaceutical compounds. This holds promise to turn carbon in our atmosphere into life-saving medication, if deployed correctly. I advise them on how the global pharmaceutical market works and how to navigate in the changing business of healthcare with its complex incentives.

Fuli

2025-Present

A direct-to-consumer brand that makes healthy, restaurant-quality, ready-to-eat dumplings using local ingredients. Current dynamics in the food & beverage markets incentivizes creating unhealthy, standardized products that last a long time in shelves with preservatives. I advise them on marketing and brand positioning as well as exploring business models that enables them to keep using just sustainable natural ingredients.

Unreasonable

2023-Present

Unreasonable Group privately invites the world’s most impactful startups into a fellowship, specifically ones that solve the UN Sustainable Development Goals. As a mentor in this group, I’ve been involved in advising companies in foodtech, healthcare, EV charging networks, cold-chain supply and carbon capture technologies.

MotionShift

2022-2023

A GenAI startup focusing on 3D models for use in dynamic web content. I helped advise on how non-technical users might understand AI tools and where and how to market such a technology.
